Bolaven Plateau Highlights - 1 Day Tour

A one day intensive tour around the Bolaven Plateau, visiting various places along the way, coffee and tea plantations, waterfalls and ethnic villages.

 

Departing Pakse at 8am, drive east by road to a local tea and coffee plantation where we can watch how the tea leaves and coffee beans are processed and then taste the finished product.

 

Next we will head to the famous Tad Fan Waterfall, where you will see two stunning cascades framed against the Bolaven Plateau dropping nearly 120m, making this one of the most spectacular sights in Laos.

 

We will move on to Tad Yuang, which has a beautiful swimming spot where we will relax and have lunch.

 

After lunch we move at a leisurely pace to Tad Paxuam, a distinctive circular shaped waterfall which is featured on many postcards of Laos. We will enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and spend the afternoon before returning to Pakse.

Bolaven Plateau Circuit - 1 Day Tour

We will have lunch at a local restaurant and try a selection of tasty Lao dishes. Then we will visit an ethnic village where you can see how people have lived for hundreds of years in small communities in this region. Chillies and peanuts are grown by the villagers and you can see the local school in session here and a traditional market. Next it's on to the magnificent Tad Lo Waterfall.

 

You will be tempted to stay on in this stunning place but there are more delights to see. The next stop is a village that is home to the Katu people who have a strong tradition of silk weaving using foot looms. The weaving in the south of Laos is known to be the best in the country. You can witness the local woman weaving the cloth and if you wish purchase some of the beautiful items for souvenirs.

 

After a full day we just have time to visit Tad Paxuam, a distinctive circular shaped waterfall which is featured on many postcards of Laos. We will enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and before returning to Pakse.

Bolaven Plateau Trek - 1 Day Tour

A one day tour on the Bolaven Plateau, visiting various places along the way, coffee and tea plantations, waterfalls and ethnic villages.

 

Departing from Pakse we drive east by road about 60km to the beautiful village of Phoui. Here you will see fair trade local tea and coffee plantations where we can watch how the tea leaves and coffee beans are processed and then taste the finished product.

 

Next we take a short easy trek to Tad Ched Xang in the heart of the Bolaven Plateau where you can swim and relax before lunch. We then return to Phoui and head back to Pakse but not before stopping at Tad Yuang and  the famous Tad Fan Waterfall, where you will see two stunning cascades framed against the Bolaven Plateau dropping nearly 120m, making this one of the most spectacular sights in Laos.

Bolaven Plateau - 2 Day Tour

A two day tour around the Bolaven Plateau, visit various places along the way, coffee and tea plantations, waterfalls and ethnic villages. This tour has an overnight stay in Tad Lo.

 

Day 1: Departing Pakse at 8am, drive east by road to a local tea and coffee plantation where we can watch how the tea leaves and coffee beans are processed and then taste the finished product.

 

Next we will head to the famous Tad Fan Waterfall, where you will see two stunning cascades framed against the Bolaven Plateau dropping nearly 120m, making this one of the most spectacular sights in Laos.

Then we will visit the ethnic village of Kok Pun Thai where you can see how people have lived for hundreds of years in small communities in this region. Day 2: After a leisurely breakfast there is an optional elephant ride through the forest or a gentle walk before lunch.
